Q.
"Is there any reason why we can not put Silica Moisturizing
Lotion on my 4 month old grandson? He has dry, patchy, scaly
skin on nearly his whole body. We have been using your moisturizing
lotion for two days and he has improved about 80%. We have
been slathering him in cortisone cream since about one month
of age. I know that can't be good. Besides, it doesn't work
anywhere near as well as your lotion."
A.
Our lotion is completely safe for anyone, of any age. I
would also suggest you give your grandson supplemental liquid
silica, sulfur, and iodine, and multiple minerals. His condition
is being caused by an internal imbalance of minerals.
Cortisone
is a powerful anti-inflammatory and its function is to suppress
the immune system attacking the allergens. Due to this,
the skin settles down and clears, but the cortisone wears
off and the immune system starts to attack again. By this
time more allergens have deposited themselves so the flare
up is more severe. This creates a cycle of cortisone abuse.
The recommended dose is 10 days per year. Overuse leads
to thinning skin, and a suppressed immune system.
Children
and teenagers who must use this medicine for a long time
should be checked often by their doctor. Other, more potent
corticosteroids are absorbed through the skin and can affect
growth or cause other unwanted effects. Topical corticosteroids
also can be absorbed if they are applied to large areas
of skin.
