What is in the Foot Patch from Japan and How Does it Work?

In the previous section you read how important a role the feet play in your overall health, especially as a detoxification portal of the lymph system. While this knowledge has been used in Asia for many centuries, the concept is new to the West.

Japanese researchers have developed a blend of powders with the unique ability to energetically stimulate reflex points and nerve endings on the bottom of the foot which in turn stimulates the secretion of lymph fluid.

The secretion of the lymph becomes a fourth vehicle for tissue and organ detoxification assisting the liver, kidneys, and sweat glands. The beauty of the patches is that they work with the body’s most extensive detoxification system. This then takes pressure off the other systems. Each patch contains the following:

1. Wood vinegar - Top quality pure wood vinegar (pyroligneous acid) is a smoke derived tree sap fluid that has not been condensed, diluted or mixed with any other substances. Wood vinegar is extracted at a precise temperature from the smoke generated in the process of making charcoal in kilns. The “Eidon” patch is the only product of its kind that uses J.E.W.A. (Japan Earth Kiln Wood Vinegar Association) certified pure ingredients to insure that it is absolutely safe and always effective.* Pyroligneous acid (pure wood vinegar) was discovered in Japan when scientists and researchers discovered that tree sap (wood vinegar) from some trees demonstrated powerful detoxifying capabilities. This has been confirmed in Japan after conducting hundreds of experiments with oak, sakura and beech tree sap extracts (Japanese white oak contains the highest natural concentrations of pyroligneous acid). During numerous experiments conducted on the potential medicinal values of pyroligneous acid, it is confirmed that toxin absorbing, detoxifying and far infrared properties of wood vinegar make it quite useful for minor pain relief and to decrease swelling in the body. It is also used as a deodorizer, antibacterial agent, sterilizer, alkaline bath and wash.

2. Pink Tourmaline - Is a semiprecious mineral that emits negative ions and far-infrared rays (FIR). This ore has both electrodes and its imperceptible energy makes negative ions that are highly beneficial to the human body. The pink tourmaline used in the “Eidon” patch is the highest quality mined in Brazil. Pink tourmaline exerts a cleansing and liberating energy upon our nervous system with a clearing and stabilizing effect that is known to be helpful for improving circulation, relieving stress, increasing mental alertness, strengthening the immune system function and aids in dissolving congestion and blockages.

3. Japanese cypress oil - The oil of the Japanese cypress contains a chemical called hinokitiol, which is a powerful antibacterial. Cypress oil is often used as a facial tonic for oily skin and as a deodorant. The many therapeutic properties of Japanese cypress oil make it useful in helping prevent the spread of varicose veins, relief of hemorrhoids, sweaty feet and other problems where an astringent would be helpful. It is also effective against menorrhagia, rheumatism and intestinal parasites. Japanese cypress oil is also known for its antiseptic qualities. It’s also used as a sedative, fever reducer, antispasmodic and to relieve some symptoms of arthritis. Pure Japanese cypress oil can also be mixed with warm water and used for a foot or full body bath.

4. Melilotus - Melilotus or sweet clover is a biennial plant found in North America, Europe and Asia. The medicinal properties of Melilotus are antispasmodic, diuretic, emollient, expectorant and vulnerary. It is used as a poultice or salve for swelling, boils and similar skin problems, milk knots, arthritis, rheumatism, inflammation, varicose veins, and headaches. This herb is also good for blood circulation. You will feel its gentle warmth soon after you put the pads on your feet.

5. Cyclodextrin - Cyclodextrin is a penetration enhancer. It is used to increase aqueous solubility of substances and enhance delivery to and through biological membranes. It is also able to extract various constituents from biological barriers.

6. Dextrin - Is used to help stabilize the wood vinegar and act as an absorbent.

Interaction With Mineral Balancing

Eidon’s primary goal is to educate the public about the importance of mineral balancing and provide the means to achieve balance. What we have discovered is that the current level of individual toxicity is so high most people are having a very difficult time achieving balance. The reason is that toxic elements compete with receptor sites at the enzyme level. Consequently, even with the proper mineral balance, you may not achieve full recovery from the symptoms exhibited. By incorporating a detoxification methodology into your mineral-balancing program, you will accelerate your return to balance.

* A Note About Purity

Eidon’s foot patches have been evaluated against all of the currently available patches. First we evaluated the contents. We eliminated those products with ingredients that could serve little or no purpose including chitison to avoid problems for those with shellfish allergies. Then because wood vinegar rapidly oxidizes and loses potency when exposed to air and moisture we eliminated those products not packaged individually in airtight plastic packages. (Soft zip lock bags that are not air tight). Next we took a good long look at bamboo and wood vinegar powders. The active ingredient in both wood and bamboo vinegar powder is pyroligneous acid, bamboo vinegar contains about 1 - 2% pyroligneous high quality wood vinegar contains 3% - 5% pyroligneous acid, approximately 3x stronger. We also found that some bamboo and wood vinegar had other issues (impurities). We noticed that when using some patches, many of our volunteers including myself, complained that their perspiration smelled like mildew and smoke. This made us realize that the ingredients were no doubt getting into our blood stream. We then eliminated all products with bamboo vinegar because the potency and any wood vinegar products that were dark in color or with a strong smoke smell, as improperly processed bamboo or wood vinegar can contain Dioxin and other hazardous toxins.

Our next step was to find out all we could about the processing of wood vinegar (we soon learned that all wood vinegar is not created equal). In search of more information we contacted J.E.W.A. (Japan Earth Kiln Wood Vinegar Association). They are the organization in Japan that certifies kilns that produce top quality non-toxic wood vinegar. They told us that there is only one company in Japan that uses J.E.W.A certified wood vinegar in a foot patch. We immediately contacted that company and requested samples. We then did our own comparison testing, sending out samples of the remaining products to our volunteer testers. Two weeks later we got the feedback from all of our volunteers and everyone said they preferred the (“Eidon”) “Asunaro” to all the other foot patches they had tested. And so did we, for multiple reasons!
